Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher By 0.14%; Buoyed By A-REIT And Tech Stocks

On 05 October 2023, at AEST 12:15 PM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading higher today, gaining 9.50 points or 0.14%, and is currently trading at 6,899.20 levels. Out of 11 sectors, 8 sectors are trading higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

The A-REIT and Information Technology sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.33% and 0.78% in their index values. On the other hand, the Energy and Materials sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 2.41% and 0.69% in their index values.

Weebit Nano Ltd (ASX: WBT) and Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX: BGL) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 4.026% and 2.996% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Core Lithium Ltd (ASX: CXO) and IGO Limited (ASX: IGO) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 4.431% and 3.818% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• S&P/ASX 200 is tracking a rebound in the US share market as the Nasdaq jumped 1.4% after ADP data showed that US private payrolls rose 89,000 last month after climbing 180,000 in August. 
• Westgold Resources' shares are rallying today after the company affirmed its FY24 guidance after achieving the full value of the Australian dollar gold price in August and September for the first time.
• Property Exchange Australia is falling after it announced a planned acquisition of UK-based conveyancing technology provider Smoove for £31 million ($59 million).
• Oil prices inched up on Thursday, clawing back some of the previous session's big losses after an OPEC+ panel maintained oil output cuts to keep supply tight amid concern about a looming slump in global economic growth.
• The Dow has closed up by 0.39%, the S&P 500 up by 0.81%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 1.35%.
• Hang Seng is down by 0.78%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.77%.
