Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher; All 11 Sectors Are Trading In Green

All 11 sectors are trading higher along with the gain in the S&P/ASX 200. The Materials and Energy sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.05% and 0.99% in their index values.

Elders Limited (ASX: ELD) and Fortescue Ltd (ASX: FMG) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 5.063% and 4.870% in their stock prices. On the other hand, ALS Limited (ASX: ALQ) and Life360 Inc. (ASX: 360) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 4.553% and 3.650% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• Australian shares are trading higher, adding approx. 0.7% gain last week, with a flurry of takeover news sweeping the index in the first session of the week.
• Sims Limited is gaining today following a note from UBS that suggested the company was likely to sell its UK metals unit for above book value.
• Star Entertainment Group Limited’s shares are declining after the company revealed late last week that chief executive Robbie Cooke and several of his senior reports will depart as the company braces for the outcome of an inquiry into whether it should keep its Sydney license.
• Oil steadied after a three-day decline on signs of a tightening market driven by sanctions, geopolitical risks, and OPEC+ supply cuts.
• The Dow has closed down by 0.77%, the S&P 500 down by 0.14%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 0.16%.
• Hang Seng is down by 2.16%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.61%.
