Marmota Limited (ASX: MEU) has announced outstanding results from its first heavy mineral (HM) assemblage analysis at its new titanium discovery in Muckanippie. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis of HM samples revealed exceptional valuable heavy mineral (VHM) content, with concentrations reaching up to 90%. Northern samples (Hole 78) reported ultra-high rutile (18-24%) and pseudorutile (41-64%) content, averaging 73% of ultra-valuable titanium minerals. Additionally, extremely low deleterious element levels (Uranium, Thorium <0.002%) enhance the deposit’s economic potential.
Further assessments of samples from Hole 80 and Hole 81 confirmed consistent high VHM levels (76-88%), reinforcing the significance of this discovery. The company’s geological review identified a 28km-long titanium-bearing palaeochannel, further solidifying Muckanippie’s potential as a major titanium resource. With continued exploration, Marmota’s titanium discovery could play a significant role in the global titanium feedstock supply.
