Li-S Energy Partners with Kea Aerospace to Power High-Altitude UAVs

Li-S Energy (ASX: LIS) has signed a collaboration agreement with Kea Aerospace to integrate its advanced lithium-sulfur battery technology into Kea’s high-altitude UAVs, enabling multi-month flight durations. The partnership was unveiled at the Avalon International Airshow, marking a significant step in Li-S Energy’s strategy to target the drone, defence, and electric aviation sectors. 

Kea’s ATMOS UAVs, operating in the stratosphere at 55,000–65,000 feet, rely on ultra-light, high-energy-density batteries to enhance endurance and payload capacity. The collaboration will see Li-S batteries incorporated into ATMOS Mk1 for ground testing in 2025, followed by flight testing in ATMOS Mk2, designed for continuous flight cycles powered by solar energy. 

This partnership positions Li-S Energy at the forefront of next-generation UAV power solutions, leveraging its innovative lithium-sulfur technology to drive efficiency and sustainability in high-altitude aviation.
