Lithium Energy Limited (ASX: LEL) has confirmed a substantial graphite discovery at the Corella graphite project through its maiden drilling program. The results of the drilling program revealed numerous high-grade intercepts of graphite, including notable examples such as 142m at 9.5% TGC from the surface and 133m at 10.1% TGC from the surface. These intercepts featured individual segments with TGC values as high as 27.4%. The assay results indicate the presence of multiple thick graphite sections with a TGC content exceeding 15.0%.
The data obtained from the drilling program will contribute to the maiden JORC mineral resource estimate for Corella. This significant discovery supplements LEL's existing burke graphite deposit, which is known for its world-class high-grade graphite resources. The burke graphite deposit already boasts a JORC Indicated and Inferred total mineral resource estimate of 9.1 Mt at 14.4% TGC.
