On 03 April 2023, Lake Resources NL (ASX: LKE) and Lilac Solutions, Inc. announced that lithium carbonate produced from their Kachi Project in Argentina has undergone successful independent testing. The tests have confirmed grades and purity levels exceeding 99.8%, surpassing the Project Design Specification and battery grade specifications of significant South American brine lithium producers. Saltworks conducted the testing, with two third-party laboratories providing independent analysis.
The Kachi Project is a state-of-the-art lithium development initiative that is committed to generating high-quality lithium while minimizing environmental impact. Lilac achieved significant performance milestones by successfully running the Demonstration Plant for over 1,000 hours and producing 40,000 liters of lithium chloride eluate before December 31, 2022. The lithium chloride eluate was later transported to Saltworks, where a portion was converted into lithium carbonate and underwent independent purity testing.
