Kingsrose Mining Limited (ASX: KRM) has gained approval from the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries of Norway to conduct drilling at the Karenhaugen prospect within the Porsanger project in Finnmark County. The project is situated at the northern end of the Karasjok and Kautokeino Belts, recognized as promising for ultramafic-hosted massive sulphide nickel-copper-PGE mineralization. The greenstone belts are extensions of Finland's Lapland Greenstone Belt, hosting significant nickel-copper-PGE deposits.
Historical drilling at Porsvann and Karenhaugen revealed magmatic sulphide PGE-copper mineralization. Kingsrose's fixed-loop electromagnetic survey indicates a strong conductor, potentially massive sulphide nickel-copper-PGE mineralization. The approved drilling program aims to test this hypothesis. The decision imposes conditions, including drilling within December 1 to February 15 and ongoing risk assessment. Kingsrose plans to commence drilling in December 2024, emphasizing responsible exploration and collaboration with local communities.
