Due to ongoing issues with production systems on the FPSO, Karoon Energy Limited (ASX: KAR) has extended the suspension of production at the Baúna oil field, including from the Patola field, until May 2023. The company is working with FPSO operator Altera & Ocyan to conduct detailed inspections of the production systems and has committed to proactive and essential measures to ensure the FPSOs future reliability.
To ensure the FPSOs future reliability, Karoon Energy and Altera & Ocyan are taking proactive and essential measures, such as expediting some of the planned July shutdown work scope. The resumption of production depends on the final scope of works and the completion of inspections. The company expects that if production operations are safe and reliable in early May, FY23 production will be at the lower end of the current guidance range. The company anticipates that unit production costs will be towards the higher end of the current guidance range.
