Image Resources NL: Atlas Project Construction Set to Begin

Image Resources NL (ASX: IMA) has received the final approvals to commence construction at its 100%-owned Atlas mineral sands project, located 170km north of Perth in the North Perth Basin. On 6 August 2024, the company secured final approval under the EPBC Act and received the Offset Environmental Management Plan and Banksia Woodlands Rehabilitation Environmental Management Plan approvals from the EPA.

The only remaining approval is the Groundwater Operating Strategy (GOS), which is required for DWER’s water abstraction and my dewatering licenses. Significantly, this does not delay construction, which is set to begin the week of 12 August 2024. Early construction works are over 50% complete, and equipment mobilization is underway. Managing Director Patrick Mutz expressed confidence in the streamlined construction process.
