Fletcher Building Slips 1% Amid Legal Action Over Winstone Wallboards

Nov 01, 2024

Fletcher Building Limited (ASX: FBU) saw a 1% drop in its stock price after the New Zealand Commerce Commission filed a lawsuit against its subsidiary, Winstone Wallboards. The Commission alleges that Winstone Wallboards engaged in anti-competitive practices by offering rebates to secure exclusive supply agreements, potentially limiting competition in the building materials market. Fletcher Building has acknowledged the proceedings and is reportedly reviewing the claims. The legal case has raised concerns among investors, contributing to the slight decline in Fletcher's share price as the market reacts to the potential implications of the lawsuit.
