Emerging Copper Porphyry Prospects at Georgetowns Fiery Creek

The Georgetown Project in Queensland, specifically at the Fiery Creek prospect, shows significant potential for a near-surface copper porphyry system, with assays revealing copper concentrations up to 23.5%. The mineralogical and geochemical analyses indicate similarities with notable Early Permian porphyry systems in the region such as Mount Leyshon and Kidston.

The system's veins, rich in copper minerals like chalcopyrite and malachite, suggest a high-grade porphyry type, similar to those found at North Parkes. An extended geochemistry program and a forthcoming geophysical survey in August 2024 aim to further delineate the scope and scale of the mineralization, supporting EMU NL’s (ASX: EMU) optimism for a substantial copper deposit. This prospect is notably constrained and unvented, enhancing its retention of minerals and volatiles, as compared to the more eroded nearby Mt Turner system.
