Element 25 Limiteds high-purity manganese project received a US$166 million grant

Element 25 Limited (ASX: E25) has been awarded a US$166 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy under the Battery Materials Processing Grant Program. This funding will support the construction of a high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate facility in Louisiana, USA, which is crucial for the domestic production of this critical battery material.

The grant complements US$115 million secured from General Motors and Stellantis, reinforcing the project's robust financial backing. With a proprietary processing flowsheet utilizing ore from the Butcherbird mine in Western Australia, Element 25's facility aims to produce HPMSM with minimal waste and the lowest carbon intensity globally. Managing Director Justin Brown noted that this milestone propels the project towards financial close and construction, creating sustainable jobs in Louisiana while ensuring ethical, Inflation Reduction Act-compliant battery materials for customers. Project work is set to commence by April 2025.
