Cyclone Metals Ltd's (ASX: CLE) Iron Bear Direct Reduction pellets have achieved exceptional specifications, grading 67.5% Fe, 1.6% SiO2, 0.12% MgO, 0.65% CaO, and boasting ultra-low deleterious elements. The Iron Bear DR Pellets exhibit outstanding physical properties and demonstrate world-class reduction and metallisation properties.
The company announced the successful production of Direct Reduction Pellets, which marks a significant milestone for the Iron Bear project. The DR pellets showcase remarkable physical and metallisation properties, and they are poised to ship bulk samples to potential off-take clients as early as Q2 2025. Direct Reduction pellets play a pivotal role in low-carbon steel production and command a substantial premium compared to the 62% Fe benchmark, currently at approximately USD 63.5/t2. Additionally, the industry-standard pelletising conversion cost at around 15 USD/t implies a typical additional cash profit of roughly USD 48.5/t3 for DR pellets compared to benchmark 62% Fe iron ore.
