Clean TeQ pilots DESALX® Tech for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment in Belgium

Clean TeQ Water Limited (ASX: CNQ) has secured a AUD$313,129 contract with Nyrstar Belgium to pilot its DESALX® technology, aimed at removing sulphate and selenium from wastewater. Following successful lab tests in September 2023, the three-month pilot project at the Balen smelter in Belgium is set to conclude by Q2 2024. If successful, the technology will be deployed at full scale, treating over 3,000,000 liters of wastewater per hour.

The contract, emphasizing Clean TeQ's operational robustness in sulphate removal, aligns with EU water discharge regulations and supports Nyrstar's environmental goals. The DESALX® system, employing continuous ionic filtration, offers advantages like high water recovery and a gypsum by-product. Clean TeQ aims to expand further in the European region with this contract, contributing to sustainable water management.
