Chalice Mining Limited (ASX: CHN) reported a strong financial position with AU$98M in cash and listed investments and zero debt as of the last quarter. Corporate overhead and project costs were reduced, with monthly expenses expected to drop to AU$1M by December 2024. The Gonneville PGE-Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project, located in Western Australia, received both 'Strategic Project' and 'Major Project' status, underscoring its importance at both state and national levels. A Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), focusing on optimizing the process flowsheet and completing key metallurgical testwork, aims for mid-2025 completion.
The study explores a two-phase mining strategy, initially using high-grade selective mining followed by bulk mining. Meanwhile, new exploration activities are underway in the West Yilgarn Province, including identifying multi-kilometre-scale gold and copper-gold-PGE targets. Chalice is also collaborating with Mitsubishi Corporation for potential strategic partnerships and continues to evaluate global copper and nickel offtake opportunities.
