Centaurus Metals (ASX: CTM) is progressing towards the development of its Jaguar Nickel Project with several approvals in place. Public Hearings, the final step in securing the Preliminary Licence (LP), are scheduled for October 10th and 11th, 2023. These hearings provide a platform for local communities and stakeholders to contribute suggestions and opinions regarding the project's environmental impact. Obtaining the LP is crucial for major projects in Brazil. Once received, Centaurus Metals will apply for the Installation License (LI) to begin construction.
Additionally, the company has lodged an environmental application for a 230kV powerline, expediting approval by combining LP/LI processes due to its minimal environmental impact. Furthermore, multiple water permits have been granted, including one for withdrawing water from a local river for the construction camp and permits for road upgrades. Centaurus Metals' Managing Director, Mr. Darren Gordon, emphasized their commitment to community consultation and the positive social, environmental, and economic impacts the Jaguar Project will bring. The impending Public Hearings signify a significant step in de-risking the project's development.
