Patriot Lithium Limited (ASX: PAT) has received approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to begin its Phase 1 drilling program at the Wickenburg project in Arizona. The program aims to explore the Dove West spodumene pegmatite, located at the historic Dove pegmatite mine, to gain a better understanding of lithium mineralization in the shallow subsurface. The company plans to drill up to 14 diamond core holes, with a total length of approximately 1015 meters.
Patriot is currently in final discussions with drilling contractors and expects to commence drilling soon. The drilling program, along with ongoing mapping, surface geochemistry, and geophysical surveys, will help increase the company's knowledge of the Dove and surrounding pegmatite systems, including their grade and tonnage potential. Based on the results, Patriot intends to conduct a more extensive drilling program later in 2023, covering additional target areas identified in the region.
