APA Group Welcomes AERs Draft Decision to Retain Light Regulation for SWQP.

APA Group (ASX: APA) has welcomed the Australian Energy Regulator’s (AER) draft decision to maintain the existing light regulation regime for the South West Queensland Pipeline (SWQP). This preliminary decision, announced following a regulatory review, suggests that the SWQP will not be subjected to full price regulation, ensuring continuity of the current framework. The AER's draft is open to further consultation and submissions from APA and other stakeholders before a final decision is made. If confirmed, the light regulation regime will remain in place, providing stability and confidence for ongoing investments.

APA Group’s CEO, Adam Watson, highlighted that maintaining the current regulatory framework supports critical investments in the East Coast Gas Grid, bolstering energy security for customers and aiding Australia’s transition to a reliable, affordable, and low-emissions energy future.
