Ampol to temporarily reduce production at Lytton Refining operations

Mar 27, 2023

Ampol Limited (ASX: ALD) has announced that it will temporarily reduce production at its Lytton refining operations due to an issue with the slide valve in its Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU). The FCCU will be temporarily closed to conduct maintenance on the valve, and is expected to return to service in early May after completion of repairs and steady state operations. During this time, the refinery will continue to operate, producing diesel and jet, but the impact will be largely limited to the production of gasoline.

The company has stated that it does not anticipate any disruption in supply to customers, and replacement finished product is being secured through its Trading and Shipping capability. The outage is expected to impact EBIT within the range of AU$30-50 million, including the cost of the repair and lost opportunity cost from sale of gasoline at higher product cracks.
