Alliance Nickel Limited (ASX: AXN) has received conditional financial support from Export Finance Australia (EFA) for its NiWest Nickel-Cobalt Project. EFA, Australia's export credit agency, aids critical minerals projects and infrastructure development. The agency manages the Australian Government's $2 billion Critical Minerals Facility, aligning with Alliance's strategy to become a leading Australian producer of EV battery precursor products. EFA's support, subject to board approval, may evolve into a binding agreement after due diligence, lender support, and customary financing terms. Discussions are also underway with a second Export Credit Agency (ECA) for additional capital and supply contracts. The debt funding process, guided by Blackbird Commodity Partners, is in progress.
Alliance's next steps involve completing the NiWest Definitive Feasibility Study and further due diligence alongside syndicate lenders. EFA's commitment hinges on conditions like due diligence completion, strategic offtake partnerships, equity raising, and funding from other lenders. The company is also in talks with a second ECA and domestic and international banks regarding capital and supply contracts. This development aligns with Alliance Nickel Limited's goal of becoming a significant player in the EV battery market.
