Alaska's State Governor, Mike Dunleavy, and DOT&PF Commissioner, Ryan Anderson, visited Nova Minerals Limited's (ASX: NVA) Estelle Gold Project on August 3, 2023. This visit was part of a tour to assess the West Susitna Access Road (WSAR) project, a proposed 100-mile road corridor that aims to provide year-round access to the Estelle project site. The WSAR will link Estelle with existing state infrastructure and skilled workforce, fostering economic growth.
DOT&PF announced plans to include the initial 15 miles of the WSAR in the '2024-2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program,' with construction funding allocated for 2025, subject to permitting. Furthermore, the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) plans to extend the WSAR to facilitate industrial access to exploration and development projects in the West Susitna Mining District. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Assembly has also approved converting rail embankments into a paved road to link WSAR with Port Mackenzie's port facilities. Nova Minerals anticipates working with stakeholders to advance the Estelle gold project.
