Australian Bureau of Statistics provided data on international trade in commodities and services, as measured by the balance of payments and international trade.

Key statistics

  • In January, the seasonally adjusted surplus on the balance of goods and services fell by AU$1,297 million.
  • Non-industrial transport equipment drove an increase of 4.6% to AU$2,082 million in imports of goods and services.
  • Metal ores and minerals drove an increase of AU$784 million (1.4%) in goods and services exports.
