The Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.21% and 1.00% in their index values. On the other hand, Utilities sector is the only declining sector, declining 0.57% in its index value.

Metcash Limited (ASX: MTS) and Block Inc. (ASX: SQ2) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 6.739% and 5.278% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Collins Food Limited (ASX: CKF) and Web Travel Group Limited (ASX: WEB) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 3.839% and 3.671% in their stock prices.

• Collins Foods Limited’s shares declined after the KFC and Taco Bell operator lowered FY25 earnings guidance and dividend due to a challenging consumer environment as sticky inflation weighed on margins.
• The Dow has closed down by 0.29%, the S&P 500 closed up by 0.24%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 0.96%.
• Hang Seng is up by 0.65%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.31%.
