ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.78%, Lifted by Industrials

By the end of the trading session on 17 December 2024, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.78% and settled at 8,314.00. Out of 11 sectors, 08 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Industrials and Information Technology and are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.34% and 1.31% in their index value. On the other hand, Energy and Utilities are the top-losing sectors, losing 1.09% and 0.20% in their index value.

Pexa Group Limited (ASX: PXA) and WestGold Resources Limited (ASX: WGX) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 8.198% and 4.304% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Data#3 Limited (ASX: DTL) and Karoon Energy Limited (ASX: KAR) went down by 9.839% and 9.678% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
