ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.77%, Lifted by Materials

By the end of the trading session on  08 January 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed lower by 0.77% and settled at 8,349.10. Out of 11 sectors, 05 sectors ended lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Materials and Financial are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.61% and 1.27% in their index value. On the other hand, Information Technology and Telecommunications Services are the top-losing sectors, losing 0.82% and 0.50% in their index value.

Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX: BGL) and Regis Resources Limited (ASX: RRL) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 7.070% and 5.405% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Deep Yellow Limited (ASX: DYL) and Zip Co Limited (ASX: ZIP) went down by 6.320% and 4.878% respectively are the top-losing stocks.
