Tivan Secures AU$7.4 million Grant to Advance Speewah Fluorite Project.

Dec 06, 2024

Tivan Limited (ASX: TVN) has secured a AU$7.4 million grant from the Australian Government’s International Partnerships in Critical Minerals (IPCM) Program to advance its Speewah Fluorite Project in Western Australia. The project focuses on producing acid-grade fluorspar, a critical mineral used in semiconductor manufacturing and EV batteries, aligning with Australia's push for sovereign capability in critical minerals.

The grant will fund Feasibility and Definitive Feasibility Studies, which Tivan will match through direct investment or joint ventures. The project benefits from a strategic alliance with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation, a Fortune Global 500 company, which supports the development and financing of the operation. Tivan aims to reach a final investment decision by Q1 2026 and commence production in 2027. Once operational, the project will enhance supply chain resilience in Asia, boost regional economic development, and create employment opportunities in the Kimberley region, fostering long-term benefits for local and indigenous communities.
