The Mineral Resource Estimate at Storm has experienced significant growth

American West Metals Limited (ASX: AW1) announced significant growth in the JORC 2012-compliant Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate for its 80%-owned Storm Copper Project on Somerset Island, Nunavut, Canada. The updated MRE totals 20.6Mt @ 1.1% Cu and 3.3g/t Ag, containing 229Kt of copper and 2.2Moz of silver, with over 61% classified as Indicated Resources. All resources lie within 200m of the surface, highlighting strong potential for open-pit mining, while studies confirm the ore’s amenability to simple beneficiation.

Exploration success in 2024 has expanded the resource with new high-grade discoveries, including The Gap and further drilling opportunities at Cyclone Deeps and other zones. Only 5% of the 100km-long copper belt has been adequately explored, with multiple targets like Tempest and Tornado identified. This significant resource growth positions the Storm Copper Project for accelerated development as a low-cost mining opportunity.
