The Butcherbird Expansion Project has received full approval to move forward

Element 25 Limited (ASX: E25) has received final statutory approval from the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to expand its 100 %-owned Butcherbird Manganese Mine to 1.1Mtpa manganese concentrate production. This milestone fully approves the Butcherbird Expansion Project under Western Australia's mining regulatory framework.

The updated Feasibility Study, released in January 2025, estimates a capital cost of AU$64.8 million, a pre-tax NPV of AU$561 million, and a 96% pre-tax IRR, with an average cash flow of AU$70.5 million per year over an 18-year mine life. Construction can commence following prior approvals from the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. With all necessary agreements, E25 will supply manganese concentrate for its planned high-purity manganese sulphide monohydrate processing facility in Louisiana, USA, while also serving the manganese alloy and steel industries. The company is now finalizing funding for the project.
