The ACCC released its report related to Airline Competition in Australia

According to the ACCC's latest Airline Competition in Australia report, Domestic airfares have fallen from historic highs at the end of 2022 but remain higher than in 2019.

Between December 2022 and January 2023, the average revenue per passenger, representing average pricing across all fare categories, fell by 13% in real terms. Notwithstanding the decreases, average revenue per passenger remained 13% higher in real terms (29% higher in nominal terms) than in 2019. The price of jet fuel has lately dropped after spiking in mid-2022 owing to the Ukrainian conflict. The price was 35% less in real terms by the end of February 2023 than it was in June 2022.
