Talon Energy obtains regulatory approvals for Walyering Gas Project

On 14 March 2023, Talon Energy Ltd (ASX: TPD) has made an announcement that the EP447 Joint Venture Partners, consisting of Talon (45%) and Strike Energy Limited (55% and operator), have received a range of regulatory approvals for the Walyering Gas Project. These approvals feature the Part V works approvals, Pipeline License, and the Environmental Plan (EP), which will allow the construction and commissioning operations to take place.

The Safety Case, which is responsible for managing the safety systems for production operations, is the only pending approval and is expected to be granted shortly. After the issuance of the EP, Strike Energy will be able to initiate construction works based on its current Safety Management System. The construction is estimated to take around six weeks, and production and gas sales are expected to commence in April. The gross upstream costs for the production facility and well completions are calculated to be approximately AU$19.2 million, with an additional cost of AU$3.8 million for connection and metering to the APA-owned Parmelia Gas Pipeline.
