St Barbara announced its FY23 financial results

St Barbara Limited (ASX: SBM) posted a reported loss of AU$429 million for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023. This includes non-cash impairments of AU$298 million for Atlantic Operations and AU$74 million for Simberi Operations as reported in the Half Year Results Report FY23, along with an additional non-cash impairment of AU$78 million related to Atlantic Operations at the end of June 2023, as outlined in the Quarterly Report Q4 FY23.

The underlying loss for the year stood at AU$13 million, accompanied by EBITDA (excluding significant items) of AU$114 million. This amount excludes AU$47 million held in a restricted account for the Touquoy reclamation security bond, with an additional AU$43 million expected for the remaining portion of the C$80 million reclamation security bond estimate. Tax liabilities from the Leonora Assets sale and transaction costs remained unpaid as of June 30, 2023.
