Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited (ASX: SXE) announced that its Heyday subsidiary had received a contract from the Built and Obayashi Corporation Joint Venture, on behalf of Dexus, for the Atlassian Australian HQ building development in Sydney. The total value of the project is more than AU$35 million.
The project is situated at 8-10 Lee Street, Sydney, nearby to the Central Rail Station, and anchors the NSW Government’s Tech Central area that will make a new international innovation and technology community. The building will be the tallest hybrid-timber building in all over the world at 39 storeys high, distributed across eight different habitats with 75,000 square meters of gross floor area. The development comprise new YHA Railway Square accommodation (137 rooms and ~480 beds) within its lower levels plus the heritage Parcels Shed at the YHA will be united into the design, along with retail spaces and a new public realm around the station.
Heyday is anticipated to start work immediately and will likely be completed in late 2026.
