Somerset Minerals Ltd (ASX: SMM) announced the appointment of Mr. Christopher Hansen as the new Managing Director, effective 1 July 2024. Mr. Hansen, currently serving as a Non-Executive Director, has been instrumental in selecting the Prescott Base Metals Project in Nunavut, Canada. He brings a wealth of experience as a multidisciplinary metals and mining professional with a solid technical foundation, finance expertise, and project development skills.
Mr. Hansen has previously worked with industry majors such as Fortescue Metals Group and Barrick Gold and later gained valuable experience with a prominent London-based mining private equity fund. Upon returning to Australia, he further honed his public and private markets expertise, including leading mining business development activities for a significant private investment group. Mr. Hansen holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Auckland and an MSc in Mineral Economics from Curtin University.
