Siviour Graphite Deposit Shows 25% Resource Increase

Sep 14, 2023

Renascor Resources Limited (ASX: RNU) has reported a significant 25% increase in the Mineral Resource estimate for its Siviour Graphite Deposit in South Australia. The updated estimate now stands at 123.6 million tonnes (Mt) with a total graphitic carbon (TGC) content of 6.9%, equating to 8.5 million tonnes of contained graphite. Impressively, 61% of this resource falls under the Measured or Indicated categories, enhancing its reliability. Siviour now ranks as the second-largest Proven Graphite Reserve globally and the largest one outside of Africa. It is projected to support a mine life of 40 years with annual Graphite Concentrate production of up to 150,000 tonnes.

These findings stem from the recently completed Battery Anode Material Study (BAM Study), which forecasts competitive operating costs. This upgraded Mineral Resource estimate is expected to facilitate future expansions and potential optimizations in pit design, extending beyond the considerations made in the BAM Study. Renascor Resources sees Siviour as a crucial source of high-quality graphite, vital for the evolving lithium-ion battery supply chain as graphite demand continues to surge.
