Scorpion Minerals Limited (ASX: SCN), a prominent player in the Australian mining and lithium industry, has announced the appointment of Michael Fotios as its CEO. With a proven track record in successfully advancing projects from exploration to production, Fotios played a pivotal role in the development and recommissioning of the Mt Cattlin Lithium Mine in Western Australia.
As the founding Managing Director of Galaxy Resources and later serving as the Executive Chairman of General Mining Corporation, Fotios generated substantial shareholder value through the listing of Galaxy in FY 2007 and the subsequent AU$216 million merger of General Mining and Galaxy in FY 2016. The CEO appointment is accompanied by bolstering the management team and renewing the mandate with strategic advisor Air Guide. Under Folio’s leadership, Scorpion aims to enhance engagement with future strategic partners and progress resource definition at existing projects.
