Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: SYA) and Piedmont Lithium have announced the successful restart of the North American Lithium project in Quebec, Canada, which was completed on time and within budget. The restart of the North American Lithium project in Quebec, Canada, which cost AU$ 80 million, is expected to produce 226,000 metric tons of lithium concentrate per year.
The project targets 226,000 metric tons of lithium production annually and is strategically located in Quebec, providing easy access to rail, highway, and port infrastructure to transport lithium concentrate to the market. As the demand for lithium grows, the project aims to contribute to the electric vehicle and battery supply chains along with the electrification economies in Canada and the US. Sayona Mining confirmed that a pre-feasibility study is underway to assess downstream production at NAL through the completion of the project's lithium carbonate plant.
