Santos Limited temporarily shuts down John Brookes platform

Santos Limited (ASX:STO) informed the market that a minor gas leakage had been found in a Subsea flange trunkline from the John Brookes platform offshore Western Australia to the Varanus Island gas processing facilities. The gas leak was discovered during the routine activities on the regular unstaffed facility. The pipeline and platform were immediately closed, and all staff personnel were demobilised.

It is anticipated that the repairs will take approximately four to six weeks to start production at full capacity. Varanus Island will remain working at a slower pace, and it is anticipated that there are no changes to Santos’ earlier announced production market guidance.
