Santos Limited announced its FY22 Full-year results; NPAT increased by 221%

Santos Limited (ASX: STO) announced its full-year results for FY2022 as follows:

• Santos Energy reported a record free cash flow of US$3.6 billion and an underlying profit of US$2.5 billion.
• Its net profit after tax was US$2.1 billion, including previously disclosed impairment charges of US$224 million after tax, losses on commodities hedging, and one-time expenditures related to acquisitions and disposals.
• The company's balance sheet was strengthened, reducing gearing to 18.9%.
• It has disclosed US$1,455 million in shareholder returns for 2022, which included an increase in the on-market share buyback to US$700 million and a 78% increase in the final dividend to US$15.1 cents per share unfranked (US$500 million). It brought the total dividends declared for the year to US$22.7 cents per share (US$755 million).
• The company's EBITDAX increased by 101% to US$5,646 million.
