Pointerra has received a US$2 million contract extension from the U.S. Department of Energy

Pointerra Limited (ASX: 3DP) has secured a US$2 million contract extension from the U.S. Department of Energy to enhance its existing hurricane impact analysis program. This initiative aims to optimize resource allocation, minimize power outages, and boost grid resilience in hurricane-prone areas. Using its Pointerra3D platform, the company will create digital twins of electric utility grids, develop a change detection model to assess hurricane impacts and evaluate grid hardening strategies.

This contract underscores Pointerra's growing prominence in the U.S. electric utility sector, where multi-billion-dollar grid resilience investments are underway. It also validates the scalability and utility of Pointerra3D in addressing critical infrastructure challenges.
