Pilbara Minerals Limited (ASX:PLS) announced that it had entered into a joint venture agreement with Calix Limited for the establishment of an unincorporated joint venture to possibly develop and control a demonstration plant and also for the formation of an incorporated JV for the possible future commercialisation of the Mid-Stream process.
The Joint Venture is a significant landmark in the development of the Mid-Stream Demonstration Plant Project. The Project targets to establish a superior value-added lithium product to the previous industry supply chain, while also possibly providing a substantial decline in carbon intensity, with potential industry benefits comprising product cost, carbon intensity reduction, and waste reduction. Pilbara minerals will have a 55% stake in the JV, and Calix Limited will have a 45% stake, with each party funding their share of operating and capital costs and Calix licensing their patented technology and calcination know-how into the JV.
