Peregrine Gold Limited (ASX: PGD) delivers a progress update on the scientific analysis of five auriferous core and rock samples sourced from the Peninsula and Birdsnest Prospects within the Newman Gold Project. The Company collaborated with CSIRO to conduct Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) studies on the gold-rich samples. The findings revealed a predominance of primary gold, accompanied by minor secondary grains.
Meanwhile, diamond drilling has been successfully completed at the Newman Gold Project, with ongoing sampling of the drill core. The samples were subjected to mineralogical and textural studies using the Tescan Integrated Mineral Analyzer (TIMA) at CSIRO's Australian Resources Research Centre (ARRC) in Kensington, Western Australia. TIMA facilitated the measurement of mineral abundance, liberation size, mineral association, and grain size in an automated manner.
