Pan Asia Metals Secures Tama Atacama Lithium Project, Eyes Global Significance

Jan 02, 2024

Pan Asia Metals (ASX: PAM) has officially signed formal documentation to acquire 100% interest in the Tama Atacama Lithium Brine Project, spanning approximately 1,200km². This project, situated in South America, boasts extensive lithium anomalies, reaching up to 2,200ppm Li and averaging 700ppm Li, making it one of the region's largest lithium brine projects. PAM has transformed Memorandums of Understanding into binding Option Agreements to purchase the project, initiating discussions with potential strategic partners.

The company plans geophysics and drilling activities in early 2024, emphasizing the project's Tier 1 status in a Tier 1 jurisdiction. Managing Director Paul Lock envisions Tama Atacama becoming a significant global lithium brine project, citing high lithium assays, strategic positioning, and favorable infrastructure and labor conditions. Ongoing developments in the Chilean lithium sector further support PAM's advantageous position, with recent key transactions by multinational companies.
