Orion contracts Newrak Mining Group for Prieska Copper-Zinc Mine trial

Orion Minerals Limited (ASX: ORN) has announced the awarding of a six-month trial mining contract to P2 Mining (PTY) LTD, a subsidiary of the South African mining contractor Newrak Mining Group (Newrak). This contract will cover the commencement of the early works trial underground mining program at the Prieska Copper Zinc-Mine (PCZM) in the Northern Cape Province. Newrak Mining Group, boasting 28 years of operational experience, is a well-established South African contract mining company.

Notably, Andy Brown, a former Production Manager at Prieska Copper Mine, will be part of the Newrak Team, contributing invaluable operational expertise. Newrak will deploy a fleet of conventional load, haul & dump loaders alongside an innovative continuous loading machine, the ITC120, recently introduced to the South African market and secured by Orion on a demonstration rental basis.
