Oracle Nickels power plant has begun the commissioning process

Jun 23, 2023

Nickel Industries Limited (ASX: NIC) has announced that the commissioning of its 380MW power plant has commenced at the Oracle Nickel Project, in which the company holds a 70% stake. The project is in Central Sulawesi's Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP). While the four RKEF lines of the project have been gradually commissioned in recent months, limited power availability in the IMIP electricity grid has limited production to approximately 80% of the nameplate capacity.

However, with the completion of the power plant commissioning, production levels at the project are expected to increase to about 130% of the nameplate capacity steadily. Similar to the company's Angel Nickel Project in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) on Halmahera Island, the Oracle Nickel Project's RKEF lines are projected to benefit from over 20% savings on electricity charges.
