NRW’s ALi® Lithium Process Gains Strategic Validation from PMET
NRW Holdings Limited (ASX: NWH) announced that PMET Resources Inc. (ASX: PMT) has identified Primero Group’s proprietary ALi® atmospheric leach technology as the preferred value-added processing pathway following a review of seven lithium processing alternatives. The assessment highlighted the process’ strong economic potential, logistical advantages, favourable technical risk profile, and alignment with sustainability objectives through reduced environmental impact.
The review was supported by bench-scale testing of spodumene concentrate from the Shaakichiuwaanaan project in Western Australia. Using the ALi® process, Primero successfully produced 99.8% battery-grade lithium carbonate, demonstrating the technology’s capability to generate a high-purity value-added lithium product. This outcome provides further validation of the process and strengthens its commercial prospects. NRW noted that discussions regarding commercialisation of the ALi® technology are ongoing with several global investment banks as the company evaluates the most suitable pathway to bring the technology to market. Primero will continue developmental testing alongside independent third-party evaluations, with the objective of advancing toward construction of a commercial-scale processing facility in the near term.
