Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Lower By 0.40%; Weighed Down By A-REIT And Consumer Discretionary Sectors

On 30 June 2023, at AEST 11:15 AM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading lower today, declining 29.00 points or 0.40%, and is currently trading at 7,165.90 levels. Out of 11 sectors, 9 sectors are trading lower along with the S&P/ASX 200.

The A-REIT and Consumer Discretionary sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 1.02% and 0.65% in their index values. On the other hand, the Materials and Energy sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.18% and 0.10% in their index values.

Imugene Limited (ASX: IMU) and De Grey Mining Limited (ASX: DEG) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 7.865% and 2.272% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Link Administration Holdings Limited (ASX: LNK) and Abacus Property Group (ASX: ABP) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 7.475% and 5.396% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• The A-REIT sector is declining, led by losses in Goodman Group, down 0.9%. Moreover, Charter Hall shed 1%, Mirvac dropped 1.1%, Dexus fell 0.9%, and GPT fell 1.5%.
• Brent crude oil prices were little changed in early trading today but were set to notch their first monthly gain this year as a sharp drawdown in oil stocks, and OPEC+ plans to cut output outweighed demand fears stemming from increasing interest rates.
• Dow has closed up by 0.80%, S&P 500 up by 0.45%, and NASDAQ ended lower by 0.02%.
• Hang Seng is down by 1.24%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.38%.
