• U.S. stocks closed lower in the previous session after an abrupt mid-afternoon drop ended Wall Street's impressive rally, which had been driven by falling interest rates and the Federal Reserve's dovish turn.
• Oil prices settled higher, but upside momentum was stifled by an unexpected jump in U.S. crude supplies that fueled fresh concerns about growing global output outpacing demand.
• The Dow has closed down by 1.27%, the S&P 500 down by 1.47%, and the NASDAQ ended lower by 1.50%.
• Hang Seng is up by 0.66%, and FTSE 100 is up by 1.02%
