Mid-Market: S&P/ASX 200 Trading Higher By 0.28%; Mirroring US Markets Gains

On 01 November 2023, at AEST 11:30 AM, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 is trading higher today, gaining 19.20 points or 0.28%, and is currently trading at 6,799.50 levels. Out of 11 sectors, 9 sectors are trading higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

The A-REIT and Healthcare sectors are the top 2 gaining sectors, gaining 0.88% and 0.73% in their index values. On the other hand, the Consumer Staples and Utilities sectors are the top 2 losing sectors, declining 0.20% and 0.09% in their index values.

Chalice Mining Limited (ASX: CHN) and Nickel Industries Limited (ASX: NIC) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 7.122% and 7.047% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Coronado Global Resources Inc. (ASX: CRN) and New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX: NHC) are the top-losing stocks and are declining by 5.073% and 3.813% in their stock prices.

Factors influencing the market-

• The S&P/ASX 200 is gaining, mirroring a rise on Wall Street ahead of the conclusion of a two-day monetary policy meeting of the US Federal Reserve.
• Amcor shares jumped after the company affirmed earnings guidance of 67¢ to 71¢ a share and free cash flow of $850 million to $950 million for fiscal 2024.
• Regal Partner Limited’s shares shots up following it will buy a 50% interest in Taurus Funds Management as Regal expands in credit and resources royalties. The new deal will take Regal’s assets base to $8 billion.
• The Dow has closed up by 0.38%, the S&P 500 up by 0.65%, and the NASDAQ ended higher by 0.48%.
• Hang Seng is down by 1.69%, and FTSE 100 is down by 0.08%.
