Medibank Private Limited (ASX: MPL) has provided more update concerning the cybercrime event. The Company announced a comprehensive customer support package for its, ahm as well as international student customers who were affected by this event.
The examination into the cybercrime event is ongoing. The focus is given on identifying systems and networks accessed and data removed by the criminal.
Based on the investigation so far, the Company identified that the criminal had access to:
1. All ahm customers’ personal data and huge amounts of health claims data.
2. All international student customers’ personal data and significant amounts of health claims data.
3. All MPL customers’ personal data and significant amounts of health claims data.
The Company also highlighted that the criminal removed some of the personal and health claims data of its customers and has probably stolen more personal as well as health claims data. It expects this number to grow further in the coming days.
