Matthew Stanton Appointed CEO of Nine Entertainment Co.

Nine Entertainment Co. (ASX: NEC) has officially appointed Matthew Stanton as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective 13 March 2025. Following a global search, Stanton emerged as the standout candidate due to his strong leadership background in media, retail, and consumer sectors. He has previously held senior roles at Barambah Organics, Woolworths, and Bauer Media. Since joining Nine as Chief Strategy Officer in 2022 and stepping in as Acting CEO in October 2024, Stanton has led significant organisational reforms, refreshed the executive team, and helped reset the operating model. The Board praised his strategic insight, collaborative leadership, and alignment with Nine’s culture and values. Stanton expressed his commitment to driving the company’s transformation and growth, highlighting Nine’s crucial role in Australian media. His employment includes a AU$1.6 million fixed salary, performance-based incentives, and a 12-month post-employment restraint to protect the company’s interests.
